The view is taken from South to North from the edge of Pontnewydd with Five Locks Road at the bottom running left to right. The Monmouth and Brecon Canal is in the centre running North then veering to the North East. When we compare the fields with old maps as part of our archaeological survey, we find the area has not changed much since medieval times.
